Liverpool team up with PL rivals to book jets for their South American stars

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City come together to charter private flights for their South American players

According to the Daily Mail (h/t Football.london), a group of top Premier League clubs including Liverpool have agreed to book private jets for their players involved in the South American World Cup qualifiers.

Fellow Premier League bigwigs Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City also have players participating in the games. The erstwhile rivals have now come together to ensure these stars return to their clubs as soon as possible.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, this task will include two of their first XI stars- Alisson Becker

and Fabinho. The Brazilian duo is expected to miss this weekend’s game against Watford due to their national team duty. They would not have enough time to get ready for the match at Vicarage road.

The Brazilians also have to quarantine in a special club facility for ten days following their game against Colombia. With the game having taken place on Sunday, there isn’t enough time to get them out of quarantine before this weekend.

The British government had previously imposed quarantine restrictions where individuals travelling from red-listed countries to the UK. Such individuals would have to quarantine at a Government approved hotel for ten days.

However, the Government had an agreement with the clubs where fully vaccinated footballers are exempted from these regulations. But, they would have to quarantine at a club approved facility and are prohibited from isolation at home.

Alisson and Fabinho are allowed to train while being in the club facility but they would not have adequate time to get ready for the match at Watford. Rival clubs like Chelsea would miss key players of their own in their next fixture.
