Team News: Klopp provides injury update on four key stars ahead of Vicarage Road visit

Jurgen Klopp provides an update on four key Liverpool players ahead of Watfod clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gave a presser to the media today ahead of their match against Watford in the Premier League. According to Liverpool Echo, the Red boss addressed various matters that affect the selection of the first team lineup ahead of the clash at Vicarage Road tomorrow.

The Liverpool boss has said that Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota are available for selection. This would be a huge boost for the Reds supporters but they would be disappointed to know that Thiago Alcantara is still doubtful for a return.

Alexander-Arnold had previously suffered from an adductor injury whereas Jota suffered an injury scare during the international break for Portugal. Thiago, on the other hand, was on the receiving end of a calf injury in the match against Crystal Palace.

The German also expressed his frustrations with the national federations following Curtis Jones’ injury. Jones picked up an injury against Andorra for the England U21s and will be out for this fixture.

The English club will also be missing their Brazilian internationals like Fabinho and Alisson Becker due to Covid-19 regulations as well as lack of adequate time for them to undergo quarantine. The 54-year-old has asked

for more support from federations as a result of the two situations mentioned above.

Klopp also gave his support to Joe Gomez and has asked to continue what he is doing now.

The Merseyside club is the only unbeaten team in the league this season with 15 points from seven matches. They sit a point behind the league leaders Chelsea and will hope to seize the initiative with a win tomorrow.

The Hornets would be managed by former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, which will be his first match

after getting appointed. Vicarage Road is a difficult place to go to and the Reds absentees will only make the match all the harder.
