According to Spanish news outlet El Nacional (h/t Liverpoolecho), the Liverpool board is preparing a €20million proposal for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele

The Frenchman’s injury-ridden career has been a prime example of how a talented player prophesied to make it to the very top could take a hit due to fitness issues.

The Frenchmen’s contract is about to end the following summer. The Catalan club have become impatient with Dembele’s ongoing fitness issues. It is believed that despite knowing that the player would earn the eligibility to talk with foreign clubs from January, the club has not taken any step towards securing an extension.

Even though Liverpool looks to target forwards in recent times for the January transfer window, they have decided to address Dembele’s transfer in the following summer window when they can get him for free.

It is believed that the Reds are preparing an offer that would include a €20million signing bonus with a wage improvement to attract the 24-year-old player.

Jurgen Klopp could utilise such a dynamic player if the Reds complete the deal. A strikers’ run breaking the opponent’s defensive line before receiving through-ball from a teammate is always appreciated in the Premier League. It seems the former Dortmund player’s qualities are in line with the required level due to his impeccable speed and agility.

The French player can work wonders under the German manager if he remains injury-less.
