According to FourFourTwo (h/t Liverpool Echo), Real Madrid has dropped out from the race to sign Erling Haaland, handing Liverpool a massive advantage.

The Norwegian has become one of the best young forwards in the world. In the last two seasons, he has scored 41 and 44 goals respectively. Despite suffering from an injury, he has already bagged 13 goals in 10 games

this campaign. 

His qualities haven’t been a secret for elite clubs who patiently wait for the right moment to make a move. One of them is Real Madrid, who kept a tab on the player’s situation.

Even though the recent pandemic and inauguration of a new stadium have taken a toll on the finances of the Spanish giant, they remain one of the most profitable clubs in the world. Their presence in the race was a barrier for other buyers, but it seems the situation has changed.  

It is believed that the Los Blancos have “pulled out of the race” due to their interest in another high priced young forward.

last season. The French forward also has become one of the top performers in world football. It seems the Madrid team are currently focusing on the pursuit of the Paris Saint-German player. 

This could become a huge relief for the Merseyside board, who are still in the race for Haaland.

Looking at the age of Liverpool’s regular front three, a decision on the long term future has to be made. Still 21, the Norweigian could become the next star for the Reds. His game awareness goalscoring hunger and physicality could become an added advantage for the Premier League team.
