‘Frustrated’ Chelsea midfielder tipped to make surprise Liverpool move

Transfer News: Acquaintance of Mason Mount reveals unrest with Chelsea and tips Liverpool move

According to Daily Star Sunday, an acquaintance of Mason Mount has revealed his unrest with Chelsea while tipping a move to Liverpool should the circumstances continue to be the same. Mount has been a crucial player for the Blues ever since he had made the jump to the first team.

The academy graduate is a fan-favourite at Stamford Bridge and is one of the highly-rated youngsters in the top five leagues currently. He has had a solid season so far but struggled to get going in front of goal in the early stages.

His hat-trick against Norwich City broke the duck, and it could not come at a better time as the forward line was thinned with injuries. But, the 22-year-old feels disappointed by the board’s treatment as he feels he is unappreciated compared to his teammates.

“Mason is a top lad and thought of well within Chelsea, and is popular with the team. But he isn’t feeling appreciated anymore. He’s been at Chelsea since he was a tiny lad, but despite coming up through the Academy, he doesn’t feel like he gets the same treatment or recognition as players bought in for big money.”

The source states

that the Englishman feels less valued when compared to the big money signings when he has been just as good for the team. The person added that while he loves his current club, he could leave if the situation continues. Lastly, the Merseyside club got tipped to be the next destination should he decide to leave.

“He is torn because he loves the club and the fans, but thinks it’s time for him to leave to step up his career. And where better to do that than Liverpool?

The midfielder has a contract that runs until 2024, but he is one of the lowest earners in the squad, with £75k a week. Negotiations between him and the club began in September to renew his deal with an improved contract. The new deal would see him earn double

his current wages, but nothing has been agreed upon between both parties.

Looking at the circumstance, it is understandable why he feels getting treated as a youth player. Having been at the club since his childhood, a transfer to Anfield is unlikely, even if the sport is full of stranger happenings.
