Transfer News: Liverpool scouting 40-goal Scottish teenage sensation

Liverpool scouting 16-year-old Scottish sensation Rory Wilson

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are among the English giants trying to sign Rangers youth sensation Rory Wilson.

The young striker is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football and the big clubs in the Premier League are said to have their eye on him.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Leeds and Newcastle United have registered their interest in the 16-year-old prodigy. While not every player lives up to their potential, Wilson continues to make a mockery of his age group by consistently finding the back of the net for fun.

Jurgen Klopp has a good record of nurturing youth talents.

The Scottish giants have offered Wilson his first professional contract but the wonderkid is said to reject the offer in favour of a move to one of the English clubs. The striker has scored 40 goals this season for the Rangers youth team.

Wilson will be following in the footsteps of Billy Gilmour, another Scottish sensation who made the switch to the Premier League with Chelsea. The striker is in action for the Scotland team this week and clubs around the world will keep an eye on the youngster.

A raw gem ?

Wilson is considered one of the biggest prospects in the game and it is no surprise that the big clubs around the world are keen on the youngster.

Being one of the biggest clubs in the world, Liverpool are keen to add the youngster to their ranks. Wilson would be able to continue his development at one of the best facilities in the world.

Training under a manager like Jurgen Klopp would be of great use to Wilson and the German manager would be the perfect guide for the Scottish youngster. Harvey Elliott and Kaide Gordon have shown in recent times that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough at Anfield.

In Wilson, the Reds would be getting a largely untested and unproven player which could be a gamble but if it pays off, the rewards would be manifold. After all, one never knows when they might strike gold.
