Transfer News: Liverpool set to miss out on Aurelian Tchouameni

According to AS as quoted by Liverpool Echo, the Reds are set to miss out on talented midfielder Aurelian Tchouameni with the AS Monaco man said to prefer a move to Real Madrid over the Reds.

A highly-rated prospect, Tchouameni has been on the radar of several top European clubs as a result of his consistent performances in the centre of the pitch. He has certainly made a name for himself during his stint with AS Monaco in recent months.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has been brilliant for the Ligue 1 giants this season. Although predominantly a defensive midfielder, the impressive youngster is also capable of playing in an advanced role.

Tchouameni has already won seven caps for a very talented French midfield and it is clear that Didier Deschamps rates him highly. The Frenchman is sought after by many European giants and is apparently valued at £42m.

The French midfielder apparently prefers a move to Real Madrid over Liverpool despite the Blues’ interest in him. This isn’t good news for the Merseysiders given that their midfield core is not getting any younger.

Born to succeed?

Despite having a squad brimming with talent, the midfield is undoubtedly the weakest area of the Reds’ squad.

Adding a player of Tchouameni’s potential will be an immense improvement in the Liverpool midfield. Despite having Fabinho, adding another defensive midfielder will only improve Jurgen Klopp

The Frenchman can also play in a box to box role and could fulfil the Georginio Wijnaldum role at Anfield. Just 22, Tchouameni is just starting off and being coached by a manager of Klopp’s pedigree will be extremely beneficial for the youngster.

One of a kind, Tchouameni is a special talent. He is destined for the very top level and is bound to reach those levels at some point.

Although the Reds may be interested in him, the player has apparently set his sights on Real Madrid. It remains to be seen if Liverpool manages to convince the midfielder to Anfield but irrespective of where he plays next, Tchouameni is born to succeed.
