Agent of Liverpool-linked Dutch winger puts PL rivals on alert with latest comments

Transfer News: Agent of Liverpool target Arnaut Danjuma gives Newcastle United advantage with latest comments

According to Radio Castellon (h/t The Express), Michael Moses, the agent of Liverpool transfer target Arnaut Danjuma, has claimed that the presence of Eddie Howe at Newcastle United could give them an advantage in the race to sign his client.

“There is a 50% chance that Danjuma will come out this summer.”

Danjuma was linked with a move to the Reds last year as well. Spanish outlet Marca (h/t Daily Star) reported on Liverpool’s interest in the Dutch attacker back in August 2021. And now, the Express claim that the Reds and the Toons are two of the clubs linked with signing the Villarreal star.

Howe was, of course, the manager of Bournemouth when they signed Danjuma back in 2019 from Club Brugge. Since then, he has taken big strides and was highly impressive in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool are linked with a transfer move to sign Villarreal CF forward Arnaut Danjuma.

He also featured for the Yellow Submarines against Jurgen Klopp’s men in the semi-finals this month, but his team was dumped out via a 5-2 aggregate scoreline. Danjuma has a release clause of around £64million in his contract that expires in 2026, with his team could miss out on Europe altogether next season as they sit in 7th position with three gameweeks left.

Danjuma to LFC?

He just joined Villarreal last summer and Unai Emery has trusted him with regular starts in his starting XI. But it is always going to be tough for a player who has had a taste of Champions League football, to not play in the competition the next season.

Do the Reds need him? Perhaps they do. Mohamed Salah has been underperforming ever since he returned from AFCON while both he and Sadio Mane are not getting any younger.

The Reds also have a tried and tested left-winger in their ranks in the form of Luis Diaz who can compete with the Senegalese superstar for starts but Mo Salah doesn’t have a quality backup down his flank.

It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old Dutchman would settle for a backup role but he could look at the current situations that both Mo and Mane find themselves in. Both wingers are out of contract in 2023 and are yet to sign a new deal with the club.

If they leave the club in the near future, a dynamic winger like Danjuma would make sense. But fans may tell you that the Reds are better off focusing on the centre-forward position if at all they plan on strengthening their attack this summer.
