Jurgen Klopp opens up on imminent Liverpool victory parade

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool already have enough reasons to arrange a victory parade

As quoted by James Pearce on Twitter, Jurgen Klopp defends Liverpool for arranging a parade on the following day of the Champions League final.

Liverpool have scheduled a parade on the next day of the Champions League final to celebrate their victorious campaign. Even though the result against Real Madrid doesn’t affect the fact whether the Reds should celebrate their accolades, some fans have been critical of the club’s decision and they have been vocal on online mediums.

Obviously, there is an added risk if Liverpool loses the Champions League final against Los Blancos. If they win it then there shouldn’t be any other day better than that to celebrate the whole campaign. However, if they lose it, then it seems a little early for the players and fans to get over the grief and engage in the parade.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has led his team to unimaginable heights since his move in 2015.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp defended his club’s decision by saying that they have already secured Carabao Cup and FA Cup titles which are significant enough to celebrate even if they don’t win the UCL.

“We have enough reasons to celebrate already. Carabao Cup, FA Cup and whatever will come. We didn’t have a parade two years ago when we became champion. I’m happy we can now deliver what I promised. It’s just for Liverpool FC. I couldn’t care less what other people think.”

Are Liverpool doing the right thing?

Liverpool have shown stupendous performance throughout the season, as a result, they have become the only English club to have a chance of securing the quadruple in this term. By securing the Carabao Cup and FA Cup title they have already done half the work and now they have set their eyes on the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

It is fair to say that the club could add to their tally this season if the cookie crumbles their way. Their path to UCL triumph is much more simple than PL victory as they have to beat Real Madrid fair and square to secure the coveted title.

Regardless of what happens in the UCL final, very few teams in Europe have achieved similar feats as the Reds. The fans and players should feel proud of this achievement and the way Jurgen Klopp’s team fared throughout the season is also appreciable.

The German manager doesn’t seem to be bothered about the event at this point, which is the ideal attitude for a manager who is set to face some vital challenges in the coming days. The Reds players would also be wise to let their performance dictate the outcome. It remains to be seen whether they create history.
