“There is room” – Pundit claims Liverpool should look into signing German International

According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), former Everton player Kevin Campbell has claimed that Liverpool should consider looking at the player profile of FC Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane.

“I think there is room for Leroy Sane at Liverpool

There is going to be injuries, loss of form and back-to-back league and Champions League games. You need to be able to flip your squad so everybody is fresh.”

Campbell is a former Everton player, having also played for Arsenal and has 325 Premier League appearances to his name. As a centre forward himself, it is likely that there is a sense in his claims.

Liverpool’s season has not started in the best possible way, with injuries to first-team players and performances in the Premier League so far.

A lot of it has been blamed on the issue of lack of squad depth and personnel to come from the bench and make a difference. Subsequently, Liverpool have been linked with multiple players to solve the injury crisis.

Leroy Sane was part of the Pep Guardiola era with Manchester City which took the Premier League by storm and won two league titles at Etihad and was quite an integral part of the team.

However, with more signings and a guarantee of less playing time with an intent to move back to his homeland, Leroy Sane transferred from Manchester City to FC Bayern Munich in 2020.

Although the German has continued to see success at the domestic level by winning back-to-back Bundesliga since his arrival, however, he has had mixed reactions to his time at the club with 24 goals in 85 appearances.

Amid speculation that the arrival of Sadio Mane might push Sane down the pecking order, it is said that according to Sky Sports Germany (h/t Mirror), the German Giants are not willing to sell the attacker and want to give him one more season before coming at a decision regarding his future.
