“He is out”- Jurgen Klopp confirms how long Liverpool defender is out for ahead of Ajax clash

Jurgen Klopp confirms how long Andy Robertson will be out for

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash against Ajax as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that star left-back Andy Robertson faces an extended spell on the sidelines.

It emerged that the Scottish defender had injured his knee and will miss the clash against Ajax and is in danger of missing out on action at least until the international break is over which could put Klopp’s plans in jeopardy.

This means that Robertson is the latest addition to a long list of injuries that the Reds have had since the start of the season. This has compounded into the fact that Liverpool have had one of their worst starts of a season under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp confirmed that Robertson suffered a knock late on in Liverpool’s previous game that he realised only the next day and this has meant that the Scottish defensive ace will miss a huge chunk of this month at least.

Speaking about the injury, Klopp was very blatant in revealing how long Robertson could be out for.

“[Robertson is] injured. Robbo now is not 100%, it was very late, in the 93rd minute or whatever, he actually felt it the next day only, but yes he is out and he is out at least until after the international break.”

Liverpool do have Kostas Tsimikas in the squad. The Greece international is the natural replacement for Andy Robertson in the squad and has shown in the past that he can do a pretty handy job.

The other option would be the ever-versatile James Milner. The veteran footballer can play anywhere on the football pitch and we have seen him being deployed as a left-back in the past on the rare occasion.

After losing their first Champions League game of the group stage to Napoli, it is now Liverpool’s turn to bounce back against Ajax. They will want to make a statement with a win against the Dutch giants.

Andy Robertson is a huge miss for Liverpool but it is not the end of the world. We need to move on and try to get back to winning ways.
