“If you’re only completing four passes in a game”- Glen Johnson gives verdict on Mohamed Salah’s form at Liverpool

Glen Johnson criticises Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah for his poor form

Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has criticised Mohamed Salah for his poor form against Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

The Reds suffered a surprising and embarrassing 1-0 defeat against Forest. Despite dominating the game and creating chances, it was Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal that sealed all three points for the newly promoted side.

Now, while speaking to Midnite.com (h/t Metro), former right-back Johnson has criticised Salah for his performance against the central Midland club.

“If you’re only completing four passes in a game, then it’s obviously personal. The formation doesn’t make you give the ball away. Everyone is below par, Salah and the rest are fantastic players and they will find a way to get back to winning ways. When two or three big players are off-form, the rest can get the team out of trouble, but when it’s the other way round, then you’ve got a problem.”

Salah has been one of our best players since joining the club in 2017 from AS Roma. The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the best in the league and the world since moving to the Merseyside club.

But this season, the Egyptian international has not been in great form. The 30-year-old has played 16 games for Jurgen Klopp in all competitions, scoring nine goals

in the process.

While he is our top-goalscorer overall this season, the club has struggled in the league. Liverpool are currently eight on the table with 16 points, 12 behind leaders Arsenal.

Salah has not been regular on the scoresheet, unlike previous seasons. The Egyptian has also only scored three times in the league so far and is looking far from his best. This is something that has cost some precious points to the club.

But the attacker has been a beast in the Champions League, scoring five in four appearances. He has scored in the last three encounters in the competition and will hope to extend that again this Wednesday against Ajax.
