“He is sick of losing”- Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp wary of unpredictable Jesse Marsch vs Leeds United

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gives verdict on Leeds United under Jesse Marsch ahead of Premier League clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is wary of the way Leeds United have played under Jesse Marsch ahead of the two sides taking on each other in the Premier League. The Peacocks visit Anfield on 29 October (Saturday).

The team led by the American are on a bad run of form. They are winless in eight league games, losing their last four fixtures. On the other hand, the Reds have been in a relative slump as well. We currently sit eighth in the table.

Speaking ahead of the clash via Liverpool Echo, Klopp outlined the threat a team like Leeds pose. The German is wary of the Whites, with Marsch currently under pressure to get results.

“And Leeds are really going for it, they are super lively, super aggressive. It is not like Jesse Marsch at Salzburg and Leipzig with a lot of high press stuff, it’s [more] midfield press, make spaces really small, going for counter attacks, a lot of really good, talented players.”

“In the last six or seven games they’ve had no real results so they will be here and I’ve just heard Jesse [on tv] saying he is sick of losing so he is already very emotional on the touchline so I can’t imagine how he will be.”

Liverpool have historically had good outcomes against Leeds in the PL. The Whites have lost on their last four league trips to Anfield.

However, the Reds have not been at their best in the current campaign. We have already lost three games in the English top flight this term. The Merseysiders had only been defeated twice in the PL in the whole of the 2021/22 season.

But while Liverpool have faltered away from home, at Anfield, the Reds have been formidable. We are unbeaten in our last 29 league matches in front of the Kop.

Against Manchester City, the Merseysiders put in a promising display. And the Reds managed to follow it up with a win against West Ham United. However, at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest got the better of us.

Our best players have been off-form this term. Hopefully, the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Fabinho will be able to find their feet soon.

The Ajax game has once again lifted some fans’ spirits. However, Liverpool have been inconsistent throughout the season. We need to build on our positive results, starting from the Leeds game.
