“I expect more” – Jurgen Klopp demands more from Liverpool following underwhelming loss to Leeds

Jurgen Klopp demands Liverpool team to improve after lacklustre display vs Leeds United

Speaking in an interview as quoted by the Mirror, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has demanded the Reds to improve after the lacklustre displays that they have put and expects more from his team.

Liverpool have really struggled to get going this season. They had a sensational performance against Manchester City but followed it up with disappointing losses to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.

They take on Napoli in the Champions League as they look to beat the Italian giants. Luciano Spaletti’s side have been high-flying this season and are unbeaten in the league as well as the European competition.

In fact, they have a perfect record in the Champions League including a superb win against Liverpool earlier this campaign. It remains to be seen if the Reds can manage to get a result against Napoli.

It will not be an easy task for a team that is morally down in the slumps. With the Premier League as good as over this season, it will make sense for Liverpool to just focus on the Champions League.

They will be looking to improve their on-field performances and Klopp has demanded that his team do just that.

“We expect more from ourselves, the boys expect more, I expect more from them. It’s just that we have to make sure that we get there with steps. In this game [vs Leeds] we had some good moments but the goalie had an exceptional game” 

It is true that Meslier had a superb performance against the Reds but that does not mask the awful defensive display that Klopp’s men put in that night. They will have to focus on improving in that aspect.

A huge game awaits Liverpool. If they can manage to put in a performance of substance against an in-form club like Napoli, it will improve their morale and they would start believing again.
