Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has taken to his social media (Twitter) to upload a photo of him working out in the gym as the Colombian recovers from injury. (h/t Daily Mail)
The 25-year-old, who arrived at the Merseyside club in January earlier this year from FC Porto for £50 million has been a revelation for Jurgen Klopp and his team.
Diaz was one of our best players this season until he picked up a knee injury during his side’s 3-2 loss against Arsenal earlier this month. Since then, the winger has been on the sidelines.
The winger had featured in 12 games this season, scoring four goals and registering another three assists in the process. No time frame has been put on his return, although it is believed he will be out till the World Cup.
His injury could not have come at a more bad time for the Reds. The club has been struggling in the league this season with many of our players out of form or injured. Diaz was better than most, but he is now on the sidelines.
If this was not enough, another of our top players, Diogo Jota, picked up a serious calf problem during his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester City last month. The Portuguese forward is set to miss the World Cup and his presence will be a setback for A Selecao.
Dias, a fan favourite at the club is being missed on the field. Fans will hope that the player can recover well during the one-month break during the World Cup.
