Didi Hamann explains how Jude Bellingham can help Liverpool

Speaking in an interview as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has explained how he thinks English midfield star Jude Bellingham can help the Reds if they sign him.

Liverpool are heavily linked with a move for the talented midfielder and want to bring Borussia Dortmund to reinforce their midfield next summer. However, they are not alone in their interest in the teenager.

Bellingham has been impressing one and all with his performances in the Bundesliga. After a couple of solid seasons with Dortmund, the teenage sensation has taken his game to an all-new level this time.

Already a pretty rounded package in midfield, Bellingham has added goalscoring to his arsenal this season, constantly bombing forward whenever given the opportunity and clinically finishing off chances.

In 22 matches for his club across all competitions this season, Bellingham has scored nine goals and provided three assists. The teenager also made a sensational start to England’s World Cup campaign, scoring the opener for the Three Lions.

Speaking about what Bellingham could bring to the Liverpool midfield, here is what Didi Hamann had to say.

“Jude Bellingham could be the key to Liverpool’s midfield troubles.I think that Liverpool’s Achilles heel was not having a player who gets us seven or from open play from midfield”

“In losing Mané, they lost a bit of firepower going forward, even though Nunez is coming into it now..Bellingham is the type of candidate who they should be looking at, but they must try and lure Declan Rice to Anfield too.”

It is no secret that Liverpool need a midfield revamp and both players that Hamann has mentioned here are excellent and work very well together in the English national team which bodes well for the Reds.

Declan Rice, who plays for West Ham United is one of the best defensive midfielders in England and he is also linked with a move to Liverpool. With Fabinho not in the best of form for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season, it will be wise in investing in some competition.

Bellingham and Rice are two players who can define England’s midfield for a decade to come. If Liverpool can manage to snap both of them up, their midfield quality will skyrocket almost instantly. Even if that is not possible, we must go all out and at least secure one of these prodigiously talented midfield gems.
