Jordi Cruyff remains cryptic about Frenkie de Jong amidst Liverpool interest

Speaking in an interview with EsportsRAC1 as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Barcelona club director Jordi Cruyff has offered a cryptic view regarding the future of Barcelona superstar Frenkie de Jong.

Liverpool are said to be interested in the player whose future has been under some scrutiny for quite some time now. Frenkie was heavily linked with an exit from the Spanish club back in the summer but that did not materialize.

De Jong has been subject to quite a few bids from Manchester United in the summer but the Dutch midfield maestro was very adamant about the fact that he will not leave the club and eventually stayed at Barcelona.

Frenkie has had a great start to the season and has been one of Barcelona’s best players. After initially starting on the bench, it did not take long for the 25-year-old to get back into the starting lineup soon.

The Barcelona midfield maestro has had an excellent World Cup with the Netherlands until now. The Spanish midfielder has put in masterclass after masterclass for the Dutch nation and is crucial to their chances at the World Cup.

Speaking about the future of Frenkie at Barcelona, here is what Jordi Cruyff had to say regarding the midfielder

“Frenkie de Jong’s talent can not be discussed. But here at Barca, he’s playing in different way and position. His talent, his skills are amazing and can’t be discussed”

It was a rather weird claim to make from Cruff whose comments on Frenkie seemed very cryptic in nature. Neither did he seem to say that Frenkie will stay nor did he reveal that Barca were looking to sell him.
