Liverpool target Konrad Laimer will join Bayern Munich in the summer

According to Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, who has been a Liverpool target, is now all set to join German giants Bayern Munich in the summer.

Bayern will complete all the details in the coming days and finalise the deal. A verbal agreement was reached in December itself. Since the player’s contract is due to expire in the summer, he will join the Bundesliga champions as a free agent.

with Laimer since the summer window, Liverpool Echo reported that the bulk of the work was done during the summer to make a potential move in January or the summer. But, nothing has materialised.

It is a bit of a missed opportunity for the Reds given the fact that the player was ready to move for free. So, for a club like Liverpool, who are not heavy spenders perennially, getting a quality player for free in the summer or on a cut-price deal now would have been a bonus.

As it turns out, the German cycle of all the best players from other clubs joining Bayern continues. We have seen many examples of that happening before. So, this is nothing surprising.

Laimer has been at both the Red Bull clubs (Salzburg and Leipzig) and has done well. The Austria international is a combative midfielder who is good at impacting games in both boxes. He is a good player for teams that prefer operating at a higher intensity on and off the ball.
