“Until the end”- Outgoing Liverpool ace keen to depart Anfield on a high

Roberto Firmino determined to give his all for Liverpool ahead of summer exit

Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is determined to give it his all for the Merseyside outfit until the end of the season, with the forward set to become a free agent next summer.

The Brazil international’s current contract with the Reds is set to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign and he has decided to leave the Anfield side. To that end, two unnamed clubs have ‘approached’ the 31-year-old. But he is yet to make a decision.

However, speaking to the media via transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Firmino has promised to be the best version of himself until he is at Liverpool.

“I’ve been praying a lot for God to keep me and help me in this process of leaving. I will do my best for Liverpool until the end.”

The Brazilian signed for the Reds in the summer of 2015 from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim. He instantly became a key player for Jurgen Klopp after Brendan Rodgers’ departure.

Subsequently, the 31-year-old formed an electric trio with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at the Merseyside outfit. The centre-forward has become a crowd favourite over the years due to his flair and creativity.

Firmino also picked up the other forwards’ slack and worked hard to press and help out the team in defensive transitions. The Brazilian has played a pivotal role in our success over the years.

While Liverpool might not be in their best moment right now, the 31-year-old has won it all at the Anfield side in the last few seasons. The Champions League win in the 2018/19 campaign gave us the platform to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Firmino’s influence in the team has dwindled since last term due to injuries and other factors. However, this season, the forward has put in some impressive displays, recently scoring the equaliser against Arsenal in the 2-2 draw.

All we can do is thank the Brazilian for his service to the club. While the 31-year-old’s last season will not bring much success in terms of silverware, he will still always be remembered fondly by the Merseyside outfits faithful.
