Brighton set a price tag in the region of £60m for Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister

According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Brighton and Hove Albion have set a price tag in the region of £60m for Liverpool midfield target Alexis Mac Allister.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, in his YouTube channel, talked about the Reds setting up talks with the Argentine international over the coming days, while Manchester United and Chelsea are also in the race.

The journalist also confirmed that the midfielder is set to leave the Seagulls at the end of this season.

Echo reports that Brighton will be open to receiving offers for the 24-year-old who has had an exceptional season for club and country.

Mac Allister is a versatile midfield player who can operate as an attacking midfielder, a central midfielder in a three-man midfield or a double-pivot.

After pulling out of the transfer race to sign Jude Bellingham due to cost issues, Liverpool are obliged to nail the transfer market to aid Jurgen Klopp in taking them back to where they should be in the coming seasons.

Mac Allister’s addition would enhance flexibility in the Reds’ midfield department, along with the quality and work rate he possesses.

Blaming the midfield’s dysfunctionality for what has happened this season can be a naive thought, but to say that it has been one of the main reasons behind the team’s inability to sustain pressures in the final third would be right.

Given how bad we have been this season, it can only get better from here, right? We cannot take it for granted that Klopp is still here and determined to undergo the overhaul and fight for the club’s success once again. We must back the German on and off the field.
