Liverpool target Evan NDicka set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt for free in the summer

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool target and French defender Evan NDicka is set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt for free at the end of this season.

The German club have no hope of extending his stay and are expected to make the final decision in 10 days. The 23-year-old’s contract with them does expire this summer (Transfermarkt).

A few weeks ago, Dave Maddock of the Mirror reported that NDicka is a transfer target for Liverpool as they look to make one defensive addition in the summer. The latter view has been reiterated by Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports a couple of days ago as well.

The former Auxerre defender has been an excellent servant for the Frankfurt-based club for the last five years. He has so far made 177 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring 11 goals and assisting 10. Together they won the Europa League last season.

NDicka is a left-footed defender who can either play as a left-sided centre-back in a three-man defence or operate as a left-back. He has played on the left of a two-man central defence as well.

At such a young age for a defender, he has amassed plenty of game time at the top level. Hence, he won’t be short on experience and dealing with pressure situations.

The 23-year-old is a technically sound footballer who is good at passing, reads the game well, can progress with the ball at ease, is physically strong and does not mind contesting aerial duels.

More Liverpool News:

Liverpool have looked like a team that can do with a new defender in there. Joel Matip looks out of sorts, while Joe Gomez’s confidence has been shot to pieces with so many injuries. As a result, the pair of Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk has a massive workload. To minimise that, signing NDicka, that too for free would be a shrewd business.
