Liverpool and Arsenal transfer target Moises Caicedo confesses he ‘dreams’ of Real Madrid
Liverpool transfer target Moises Caicedo, who has also been chased by Chelsea and Arsenal, has confessed his desire to play for Real Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Carrusel Deportivo (h/t the Mirror), the 21-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder said:
“I like Real Madrid. It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid. “I’m doing things very well now, so why not join Real Madrid one day and win the Champions League? That is my biggest dream.”
Statistically and historically speaking, a player’s best chance of winning the UEFA Champions League is with Real Madrid. They are 14-time winners of the competition and somehow always find a way to succeed in Europe even if their team is going through a transitional phase or are struggling domestically.
Caicedo to Liverpool a good move?
Caicedo tried to force a transfer to Arsenal this January but Brighton were having none of it. He has signed a new deal that has extended his stay at the Amex until the summer of 2027, making it more difficult for his suitors to sign him.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid reciprocate the feelings shown by the Ecuador international. They have had a penchant for signing young midfielders recently with Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni joining them in recent years.
They are also believed to be after 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham. Even if Caicedo joins us, there could be a chance he uses us as a stepping stone to earn a move to Los Blancos.
But even if that is the case, this is a move worth making. Caicedo can play as a No. 6 and as a No. 8 and is a tireless runner who is adept at shielding his centre-backs. His young legs and endless determination are badly needed in our bland, ageing midfield.

We just have to hope Real Madrid stay away from the former Independiente del Valle man and that we are quicker to pounce on him than Arsenal and Chelsea.
