Liverpool to meet the representatives of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in the coming weeks
Fabrizio Romano on his Here we Go podcast (h/t Liverpool Echo) has revealed that Liverpool will advance their interest in Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister has become a household name after his heroics with Argentina in their FIFA World Cup win in Qatar and at the same time been a key cog in the ever-improving Brighton.
The Argentine, 23, is ready for a move to a top club and it was admitted by his father just recently that the midfielder will leave the Seagulls in the upcoming window.
It is a pretty clear deal from all parties involved and many expect an early summer transfer for the Argentine as Brighton would be keen to use the money to reinvest in the squad.
Hence it presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a hugely talented player and Romano claims that Liverpool will be making contact with Mac Allister’s representatives in the coming weeks.
“Among the priorities for Liverpool remains Mason Mount, he is a player since February in their list and Alexis Mac Allister is another one they appreciate and they will have contacts with the camp of Mac Allister very soon, it could be in the next two or three weeks.”
The deal surrounding Mason Mount could be predicted to be dragged down in negotiations over the summer while a deal concerning Mac Allister looks pretty straightforward.
It also provides a new dimension to the team and could fit in pretty well considering the high possession-based football in place at Brighton. He has already shown his qualities with the national team and could be the perfect 8 in the transition from defence to attack.
Manchester United are also touted to be in the race for Mac Allister and we would have to be quick on the deal if the club decides to move forward with an offer.
United could potentially provide the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League, which might look like a steep task for us at the moment.

This could potentially be a factor in the player’s decision (although there is nothing to suggest that it definitely will factor in) but hopefully, the late resurgence in the season while the clear dominance in the seasons before would convince the player to make the switch to Merseyside.
