Liverpool plot double raid on Brighton & Hove Albion for two midfielders

Liverpool plotting a double raid on Brighton & Hove Albion pair Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo

According to The Athletic (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are plotting a double swoop on Brighton & Hove Albion midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.

It is common knowledge that Jurgen Klopp is looking to revamp the engine of the team and has marked the Brighton pair as of interest.

Both have had a very impressive season so far. Mac Allister played a key role in Argentina winning the FIFA World Cup while Caicedo’s first full season in the league has been nothing short of noteworthy.

While Mac Allister is expected

to leave the Seagulls with his representatives looking at an early summer move, the case with Caicedo would be a little difficult.

If the Argentine does end up leaving in the summer, Brighton would be reluctant to sell another of their midfield generals in the same window.

Good idea from LFC

This comes at a time when Roberto De Zerbi’s men are fighting for a place in Europe and if that materializes, taking multiple players from the team would be a tough task.

Caicedo has quickly established himself as one of the hottest properties in the league with his adaptation nothing short of commendable. The youngster also has a long time left in his career and can only get better under a coach like Jurgen Klopp.

Capable of playing as a 6 or an 8, he provides the manager with a lot of options to play with and at 21 years of age, still has a lot of potential to be world-class. Although there is a slim chance, if Liverpool could end up qualifying for Europe, it would give us a much better prospect of convincing potential signings.

Even one out of the two midfielders would not be a bad coup. Mac Allister and Caicedo’s stocks are sky-high right now – probably as high as they have been. The former won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina while the latter has made a stellar impression in England with his performances.

If the finances make sense, both would fit at Liverpool. If Brighton quote a huge price tag, it won’t be the end of the world and we can always look at other targets.
