Romano: Liverpool take information on 26-year-old Manchester United target

Liverpool have been informed about the conditions required to sign Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat

As per a tweet from Fabrizio Romano, via Dutch outlet AD, Liverpool have been informed about the conditions required to sign Fiorentina midfielder and Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat.

It is clearly revealed that no official bid has been made by the Reds to sign the Moroccan international yet. The club is still exploring the market before landing a defensive midfielder or two before the transfer window deadline.

It was around and just after the World Cup when Liverpool were initially linked

with the 26-year-old defensive midfielder. Since then, not much has happened to that file. United have been chasing his signature throughout this summer window.

There have been a number of links with defensive midfielders around Europe circulating the name of Liverpool. Even a newly-born baby knows that the Reds are searching for a player or two to bolster that department before the deadline.

Independent revealed that the club are advancing in their attempts to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure. Later in the day, Ryan Gravenberch’s links resurfaced with a warning that United are also keen on the player.

It is definitely an interesting and nervy time to be a Liverpool fan. The club have recently missed out on two top targets in Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.

Amrabat is also a target for Manchester United.

So, there is a big possibility that whoever they sign to fill the number six position, wasn’t their first-choice option going into the window.

But, that is the nature of the beast. Other teams are vying to sign players as well. That’s why it is important to have plans B and C in the market. If Amrabat is a part of the backup plan, it is a good one because the Moroccan is a fantastic player who would suit how we play.
