Liverpool have made an approach for in-demand Ligue 1 midfielder
As reported by Italian publication Tutto Juve, Liverpool have opened talks with Ligue 1 side OGC Nice for the signing of Khephren Thuram. The 23-year-old has impressed a number of clubs with his performances for the French side this past season.
Thuram made 29 appearances for OGC Nice and made two goal contributions. His numbers don’t tell the whole story though. He may not score a lot of goals or get a lot of assists. However, Thuram is an intelligent player and does his job wonderfully.
His distribution doesn’t leave anything to be desired and he provides excellent cover to the backline. Most importantly, Thuram’s work rate is worth noting. He always has an influence on the game thanks to his never-ending activity on the pitch.
Transfermarkt evaluates Thuram at €35m. This would be a fair price to pray for such a quality player, however, the Reds might not even have to pay this much. They have already opened talks, so a deal could easily be struck within the coming days.
Liverpool have gotten off to a great start to this summer. The team looks intent on making improvements to the lineup and Thuram is an excellent start. Hopefully, his transition to the Premier League won’t be much of an issue if a deal is struck.
Following Thuram, the Reds will likely look to bolster their defence or their offence. Both lines let them down last season and the team will surely be making improvements this summer.
