Rhian Brewster to join Championship side Swansea City on loan
Swansea City have made a formal offer to Liverpool to loan 19-year-old starlet Rhian Brewster for the rest of the season. (h/t Athletic)
Rhian Brewster was expected to have his breakout season as part of the first team, but injuries among other factors have led to him making just 2 appearances this season.
Jurgen Klopp is open to the idea of the youngster picking up the first-team experience elsewhere to boost his development and Swansea seems to be the likely destination.
Swansea are managed by former Liverpool academy manager Steve Cooper who has also managed Brewster when he lead England to the Under 17 World Cup in 2017. Brewster was the top scorer in the tournament. (h/t Mirror)
The loan move should suit Liverpool fine as playing under a manager who not only rates Brewster but also knows how to get the best out of him will guarantee both playtime and development.
With Cooper revealing that the Swans have no money for permanent signings this January, a loan deal for Brewster looks to be the priority. (h/t Wales Online)
