Transfer News: Liverpool working on top secret transfer list
According to transfer news from ECHO (h/t Express), Liverpool are said to be working on a top-secret transfer list. Liverpool are looking for attacking reinforcements in the ilk of Diogo Jota after the impact he had over the 2020/21 season.
Liverpool landed a smart signing last year in the form of Diogo Jota. The Portuguese youngster was a rising talent at Wolves and provided Liverpool with another option in attack. However, not a lot of fans would have expected the instant impact of the player right from the off. 13 goals in 19 starts meant that there were questions over why he was not being given more games.
Jurgen Klopp had to cave in and hand him Roberto Firmino’s place after the Brazilian struggled to get goals. Jota’s fast start to the season would be derailed with an injury but he did come back right towards the end of the season.
Liverpool and Michael Edwards are said to be after a player that can have a similar impact and that is why they are making a ‘top-secret’ transfer list.

For now, it is unclear as to who is on their radar but it’s understood to be a forward. Jarrod Bowen of West Ham and Jonathan David of Lille are two players that have been linked recently. But it is mere speculation at this point as to who Liverpool would end up going for.

It is not that Liverpool overly need another attacker. The front three are still quality players backed up by Jota. However, if players like Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi are sold, the addition of another forward would make sense. Bowen and David are quality options and do look like good prospects to go after.
