17-year-old Isaac Mabaya signed his first professional contract with Liverpool

According to the club’s official site, teenager Isaac Mabaya has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool.

Mabaya has been with the Liverpool academy since the age of 6. He debuted with the U-18’s as a wide midfielder when he was just 16 years old. The youngster was then used as a wing-back midseason and has been impressive in his new position as a right wing-back with the U-18s.

In the past few seasons, Liverpool have done a great job of promoting deserving youngsters to the first team. Jurgen Klopp has used the domestic competitions as a launching pad for giving deserving youngsters a chance in the senior squad.
