Strongest Liverpool Lineup To Face Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Sturridge As A Lone Striker

Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Spurs

Jurgen Klopp will be making his managerial debut as a Liverpool manager tomorrow, away to a resurgent Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane. Spurs haven’t faced a single defeat since their 1-0 loss to Manchester United on opening day. However, a win tomorrow could see the Merseysiders rise above their North London rivals in the table. Klopp has been fairly vocal since his appointment, and has gone on record to say that he wants his team to be brave and take risks and make mistakes, and it will be interesting to see how this philosophy works out for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s first Game  in-charge – Let’s predict

GK: Simon Mignolet

Mignolet has been in indifferent form this season, just like his team. However, he is still Klopp’s best bet under the bars, and for the Reds to come on top tomorrow, the Belgian must have an error-free display.

Defence: Clyne, Can, Sakho, Moreno

Right Back Clyne has flattered to deceive this season after coming from Southampton while left-back Moreno has been guilty of leaving players unmarked in recent games. However, with the youngster Joe Gomez out for rest of the season due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury, you can expect the aforementioned two to start the game at the fullback position. In the Centre of the defence, the ever – reliable Sakho will probably partner Emre Can, and their understanding will be severely tested by the likes of Kane, Eriksen and Son(if he manages to pass his fitness test).

Holding Midfield: Allen And Lucas

With Liverpool Captain Jordan Henderson most likely set to miss the game due to a foot injury, it will be up to Allen and Leiva to sit tight and protect the Centre backs from the pacy counter attacks of the Spurs front line. With Can always eager to run forward with the ball, these two will probably have to sit back and defend more than once if the ball is lost.

Attacking Midfield: Milner, Coutinho, Lallana

The trio of Milner, Coutinho and Lallana will hope to click tomorrow, and there is no reason for them not to. Milner will also provide cover to Clyne while Coutinho and Lallana will look to break down the Spurs defence with their silky tricks and passes. With Firmino set to miss the game due to a back problem, the stage is set for the three, especially Lallana to impress their new boss.

Lone Striker: Sturridge

Up front as a lone striker, Sturridge will be looking to start the game. With Ings out injured with an anterior cruciate ligament tear, one expects the former Chelsea striker to feature and the Liverpool faithful will be hopeful to see him regaining his old form as soon as possible

Subs: Adam Bogdan, Martin Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Kalou Toure, Jordan Ibe, Origi, Rossiter.
