The International break is over and it won’t be returning until March (Oh Yeah!!). And Premier League football is back (Oh Yeah Again!!). El Clasico is on tomorrow, but for many of the premier league fans Manchester City Vs. Liverpool is a bigger game (both games will happen simultaneously).

Liverpool

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, face his first defeat with Liverpool against Crystal Palace two weeks ago. He will looking to move forward when they face league table leaders, Manchester City, at their home ground. Liverpool have problems facing Manchester City at Etihad, but they also had problems facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. But Jurgen Klopp broke those problems and defeated Chelsea and he will be looking to do the same against Manchester City.

Players like Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge has returned from injuries for Liverpool, but who will start? Here is Liverpool’s predicted line-up to face Manchester City.

Goalkeeper – Simon Mignolet

The Belgian started for Belgium’s international friendly match against Italy and put up a ‘Man Of The Match’ performance, helping his team to win 3-1. And he will be given the responsibility of guarding Liverpool’s goal against Manchester City.

Defenders – Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Alberto Moreno

Clyne did not play for England’s first match against Spain, but played the full 90 minutes against France and kept a clean sheet. He will be continuing as Liverpool’s right back and there is no doubt in it. Martin Skrtel captained Slovakia in their international friendlies and the experienced centre-back will be starting for Liverpool. Dejan Lovren will be given a spot in the starting line-up after  Liverpool’s start defender, Mamadou Sakho, got injured. Lovren as not selected for Croatia’s International friendlies and hence he will be fresh. He will looking to impress Klopp and hold down a starting line-up spot. Alberto Moreno has improved a lot this season and he will be continuing as Liverpool’s left back. He will also want to help Liverpool in their attacking moves.

Mid-fielders – James Milner, Lucas Leiva, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho

Milner is back from injury and will be looking forward to captaining Liverpool against his former club, Manchester City. The Englishman has not been in good form for Liverpool, but his work rate is immense and he will hoping to turn the work rate into goals and assists. Lucas Leiva has been key for Liverpool in their last few matches and he looks top class. He even captained Liverpool against Crystal Palace in the absence of Henderson and Milner. He will be starting for Liverpool and will be keeping Manchester City players at bay. Lallana features for England’s both friendlies, but it was a quiet international break for him. He is regaining his confidence and is slowly settling at Liverpool. All he needs to do is add goals and assists to his game. Roberto Firmino has had a slow start to his Liverpool career, but he is slowly settling. He is already a key player for Liverpool and when he starts to bring goals and assists to his game, he will be deadly. He was selected for Brazil’s national team, but he along with his Brazilian friend, Philippe Coutinho featured in a behind closed doors match against Wolves. Both of them had good games. Coutinho has found his mojo back. He scored three goals in last two premier league matches for Liverpool and he has become Liverpool’s joint top scorer along with Christian Benteke (Goals=4). We may see Jordon Ibe coming on for Liverpool in the second half. Henderson has returned to training but won’t feature this week.

Striker – Christian Benteke

Benteke saw his national side, Belgium, defeating Italy from the bench. He did not have a good match against Crystal Palace, two weeks ago, but he will be looking to put all those behind and score goals for Liverpool. Sturridge has returned to full training, but there is only very slight chance for him to start. He may be on the bench for Liverpool.
