Liverpool’s Dream 5-A-Side Team

Liverpool have shown some quality football after the arrival of Jurgen Klopp. The German manager has been pushing his players to have an attack-centric game and dominate the proceedings by pressing through the pitch. A lot of players have shown improvement under the reign of the new manager and the fans are hoping for better things to come in the future. Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho have shown tremendous signs of playing quality football under Klopp. If Liverpool were to play a 5-a-side match, these are the players who would make a cut through.

Formation:  1-2-1 – The Diamond

Liverpool should go ahead with the diamond as this naturally suits their gameplay and attacking style. Sturridge should be the front man for the Reds, Coutinho, and Firmino to support him in the midfield and James Milner should play at the back. Simon Mignolet can take up the goalkeeping duties.

Daniel Sturridge

The English striker has quick feet, good dribbling abilities and is a finisher and he should be the perfect man up-front. Sturridge is an all-around attacker who can show his game on any turf and in any form. The No.15 for Liverpool should be Klopp’s choice as a striker.

Roberto Firmino

Firmino has been in tremendous form lately. He is good with both the feet and is quick on the turn. The Brazilian also has a good pace to match with his striking abilities. He is also known to be good with assists and possesses a natural flair for a one-touch game.

Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho Is back
Coutinho Is back

This talented Brazilian has been the man for Liverpool since almost two seasons and he is one whom you just cannot miss from the line-up for a 5-a-side game. Coutinho has brilliant feet, quick dribbling skills and can easily trick defenders. He also has a sweet right foot for the quality finishes. Coutinho is the man to have at the center of the pitch as he can dictate attacks.

James Milner

The English international is a total package and can play at multiple positions. Milner has a tremendous work-rate and his abilities to hold the ball make him a must have in the team. He is also known for his defensive abilities and he can certainly shrug off defenders and make a solid backline for the goalkeeper.

Simon Mignolet

The Belgian goalkeeper should take up the duties at the posts. His shot-stopping abilities are good and they can be put to good use in this format of the game.
