The Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players For The 2015-16 Season

This season has been one hell of a ride for teams as the unexpectedness was at its peak. The championship and relegation is decided and the teams battle for the European places. Liverpool have had a topsy-turvy season with significant highs and some lows and here we take a look at their top players for the season. This ranking is based on the statistics and their contribution to the team.

1. Philippe Coutinho
He has been the key player for Liverpool this season without a doubt. If we look at the statistics, Countinho scored 8 goals in the premiere league and had 5 assists, but the thing that makes him the no. 1 player for Liverpool is his contribution in the big games. Some of the highlights are the away leg at Old Trafford, the double at Stamford Bridge, the goal against Dortmund.

2. Emre Can
Can has flourished under the guidance of Klopp and he has been able to demonstrate leadership abilities in the midfield. If we look at the number of tackles made in midfield and pass accuracy, Can is ahead than his teammates. In his absence, Liverpool have clearly struggled to hold possession and dictate midfield. He has a promising future at the club.

3. Roberto Firmino
The new signing took his time initially to settle down at the new club, but since the arrival of Klopp, there has been no looking back for the Brazilian. He leads in the assists column with seven this season and also has scored 10 goals in the league. His partnership with Coutinho has also been instrumental and helped Liverpool in crucial games like the one away at the Etihad. Firmino is definitely a brilliant prospect for the Reds.

4. James Milner
Milner was the best signing for Liverpool this season. The dynamic utility player came on a free transfer from Manchester City and in his first season at the club managed to become the vice captain. His ability to play in different positions as per the need and his work rate makes him a valuable asset to the team. If we look at his key passes, he leads the lot with a good margin and also has made more number of tackles as compared to other players in attack.

5. Nathaniel Clyne
He has been the most consistent player for Liverpool this season. Clyne has appeared in 33 games in the premiere league and thus becomes the player with most number of appearances for the club. Also the amount of running and the number of tackles made by him make him an important member of the team.
