Liverpool Transfers: Why This Speed Merchant With PL Experience Is A Good Option For The Reds

Liverpool are going to be pretty active in this transfer window as a massive overhaul is expected as it is Klopp’s first summer transfer period. At least, 5-6 players are set to leave Anfield for new pastures and the same number of new faces are anticipated to freshen up the squad and improve the competition. The start has been brilliant with some exciting names joining the squad after the Euros and the Olympics like Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, and Loris Karius.

The prime target for this transfer window was said to be the 23-year-old, Mario Gotze but the reds have suffered a setback as the German has indicated that he wants to stay at Munich and impress the new boss Carlo Ancelloti.

Liverpool reportedly have shifted their interest in the league itself and are now targeting Sadio Mane from Southampton (yes them again) as Gotze’s are appearing to be rather futile. Mane has been a long-term target for the reds and was close to a move to Anfield two years ago but Rodgers decided against the transfer of Mane to the reds. His price has doubled and he has done very well for the Saints for the past couple of years.

Mane has Premier League experience and on his day can thrash any opponent single-handedly. Mane holds the record of the fastest hattrick in the Premier League against Aston Villa in which the 24-year-old scored three goals in a matter of 176 minutes. Mane has that x-factor that the reds lack at times against the smaller teams which are tough to break down.

Sadio Mane is attracting a lot of interest from the likes of Spurs and Man United but the reds can sign the Senegalese attacker if they act quickly now. He is ready for taking the next step by joining a big club and Klopp who is known to be an admirer of Mane, should work quicker to secure his services as the competition for a place in the attacking department should be increased.

Mane is a complete utility player and can play on the wings and also can operate behind the striker. The Senegalese scored 15 goals this season which is higher than any player managed this campaign for the reds and Mane will definitely add more steel and depth to the ever improving squad under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp.

He has his weaknesses as he can go without scoring a goal many games and his biggest worry is his inconsistency but with age on his side, that aspect of Mane’s game can be improved and the signing of Sadio Mane could spur on the much-needed surge on the top again.
