News has emerged that Roberto Lewandowski has decided to leave Bayern Munich and the Premier League is his choice of destination. And surprisingly, despite not having European football, Liverpool could sign Roberto Lewandowski. It is easy to predict that if Lewandowski confirms his interest in joining the Premier League, then all the big guns of England will be in for him and will not want him to join their rivals. Out of all the clubs in England, if the Polish international chooses Liverpool, it will be a huge heartbreak for other clubs and a huge boost for the Merseyside club.

Liverpool will need to splash some cash and will also need to work very hard to convince Lewandowski to join them, but if things go their way then Liverpool fans have a huge year to look forward to. Lewandowski is one of the world’s best players at the moment and signing him will be a big sign of intent from the club.

Liverpool were never really able to replace Luis Suarez, after he joined Barcelona in 2014 but now they might have found one in Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern Munich player is a perfect striker and there is no doubt that he will be a huge success whichever club he joins.

The Klopp factor will have a huge role to play in this transfer saga. Robert Lewandowski first came to the limelight under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund. The 27 year old decided not to renew the contract with Borussia Dortmund and joined their arch rivals, Bayern Munich, for a free transfer in 2014.

Even though, Lewandowski has been a key player for Bayern Munich and has won the Bundesliga title twice with them, it seems that he is not happy and is feeling unsettled. And according to some of the English newspapers, he has decided that England will be his destination.

Liverpool signing Lewandowski will be a sign. A sign that Liverpool are surely returning to their glory days. Since the Premier League started in 1992, the Reds have not been able to win an English title. Liverpool’s best highlight since 2000 was their Champions League triumph in 2005 under Rafa Benitez. Apart from that, there is nothing Liverpool fans could be proud of.

Appointing Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool’s manager last season was the first step for Liverpool to return to their glory days. Jurgen Klopp is a perfect fit for Liverpool and they are fortunate to have him. Klopp was made for Liverpool and Liverpool was made for Klopp. Such is the chemistry between the club, Klopp and the fans.

This is Klopp’s first summer transfer window as Liverpool manager and he will be looking to bring in some quality players. Several journalists had reported that Klopp wants a reunion with Mario Gotze. And maybe he also wants a reunion with Robert Lewandowski too. If he can convince one of the two to come to Anfield, then convincing the other night not be tough.

Lewandowski and Gotze are currently with the Poland National Team and German National Team at the Euros respectively. Liverpool will have to wait until the end of the Euros to see what happens. Proper talks and negotiations can help Liverpool lure the former Borussia Dortmund stars.
If Lewandowski rejects offers from teams like Manchester City and Arsenal, who can give him Champions League football, and joins Liverpool it shows that the striker has something in mind. It shows his will to work with Klopp. It shows that he is confident that Klopp is the man who can take him to bigger heights. And it is pretty sure that he too realizes how much of an impact he can cause at Liverpool. Lewandowski to Liverpool will be the beginning of a new era at Liverpool. We might be able to see Liverpool getting back to its glory days and claim back it’s ‘throne’.

And if the Polish star decides to move to Anfield, it will be a big proof to the fact that football is not all about European Football. We are in an era where people consider European Football to be the heart and soul of the game itself. Yes, playing in the Champions League is every football players’ dream, but that is not everything.
