Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to undertake an overhaul in the Reds squad this summer as he prepares for his first full season. The Reds have already signed five players into the squad with Sadio Mane being the recent signing into the squad.

The Reds have fallen behind in the race to sign the Lille midfielder Sofiane Boufal, who is also linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton. According to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, Arsenal, Chelsea and Southampton will hold talks with Boufal’s agent. The news will be a blow to Klopp who has already missed out the signing of Bayern Munich player Mario Gotze.

Further into the transfer, the Reds have been handed  boost in their pursuit to sign Gonzalo Higuain into the squad. The player’s brother Nicolas Higuain who is also his agent has revealed in the media that the Argentine player has refused to sign a new deal at his current club Napoli.

“It wasn’t right of the club to ignore those commitments,” he told Argentine radio station Closs Continental.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis has every right to demand the clause in his contract be paid, but my brother and I have decided not to accept a renewal.

“We’ll see what happens next year with Napoli, given that his contract expires in 2018 when he turns 30.”
