Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen, who joined the Merseysiders back in 2012 from the Welsh side Swansea city has been struggling to find a stable place in the team’s starting eleven, but so far, he has not succeeded in that mission. During the Rodgers’ era, he was criticized a lot due to his poor ball techniques, but the Welshman showed a great improvement under Liverpool’s now-manager Jürgen Klopp.

The 26-year-old central midfielder eventually became the fan favourite, but even after that, he failed to cement a regular place in the starting spot.

Now, a recent report from Sky Sports has stated that the Merseyside club have agreed a £13m fee for Joe Allen from the fellow English side Stoke City. Allen, whose majority appearances came from the bench for Liverpool was also the subject of Swansea’s bid, but Liverpool rejected their offer, claiming that it is too low.

Well, it was expected that Liverpool’s manager had no concrete plans for Allen in his books, hence his move away from Anfield was for the best. With him gone, many expect that there are still some players, who could launch off from Anfield, and here we give you three names, who could follow Joe Allen out of the club:

  1. Mario Balotelli-

The first and obvious name in the list is of the struggling Italian forward Mario Balotelli, who claimed that he would win Ballon d’or at some point of his career. Well, to achieve that, he must have to find a club first, because Liverpool’s manager has strictly told him that he no roles for Balotelli in his script.

The 25-year-old attacker spent his last campaign on loan with AC Milan, but he only managed to score some handful of goals. The striker, who was bought to fill the void of Luis Suarez has become nothing more than a liability for the manager. Many believe that any bid from any club for the player would do the trick for Klopp.

  1. Lucas Leiva-

The 29-year-old Brazilian is the longest serving player for the Reds right now, but his future is reportedly in an immense doubt. Due to some major injury concerns last season, the midfielder was shifted as a centre back, but Lucas did a pretty good job. It is understood that Klopp will still be making a couple of signings, and hence, Lucas’ first team chance will eventually go down.

Many reports are saying that Liverpool are currently chasing Newcastle United’s midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, and Sky Sports have even stated that Newcastle are demanding Lucas Leiva in exchange. Lucas could play a great role for Benitez at St. James’ Park, hence this move really makes sense.

  1. Christian Benteke-

You all saw that coming isn’t it? The 25-year-old former Aston Villa man too was bought as an heir of Luis Suarez, but the towering Belgian international failed heavily. He even lost his place to the fellow countryman Divock Origi under Klopp. It is clear that the 25-year-old is getting frustrated, and therefore, a move away from the club would be the best option for him.

Reports have claimed that he currently is a top priority for Crystal Palace, but Liverpool wants to recoup the money they paid for him and Palace are not eager to pay that much, hence the move has been stalled for time being.
