Likely Liverpool Line Up To Face Burnley – Emre Can To Return?

The Merseyside club Liverpool came back to the winning ways as they recently defeated Burton Albion with a thumping scoreline of five goals to nil. The young and dynamic Divock Origi opened the scoring for the Reds followed by the gaol from Firmino and then Daniel Sturridge stood up to score a brace in just five minutes.

Now, with the newly gained momentum the Reds will now be travelling to London to face the Premier League heavyweights, Tottenham Hotspur. The North-Londoners had a slow start to their campaign as they drew to Everton on the opening day, but came back on track as they defeated Crystal Palace thanks to the goal from their new acquisition Victor Wanyama.

The North Londoners are currently at the seventh spot with four points while the Merseysiders are on 11^th with three points. Liverpool surely had an easy time against Burton Albion, but this time around, the players will have to be on their toes as Tottenham are not a side, which can be taken for granted.

Here is the predicted lineup for Liverpool that could face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend:

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

The Belgian shot-stopper, who was supposed to be benched after the arrival of Karius, has the luck by his side. With Loris Karius missing the games due to his injury, Mignolet will be given the task to guard the post this time around as well. The Belgian had a tough time at the Turf Moor last weekend, but this time around, the test will be more stern. Players like Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Lamela will be looking to make his life miserable.

Defence: Clyne; Lovren; Klavan; Milner-

The English defender, Nathaniel Clyne, has been criticised due to his poor defensive prowess in the recent games, but his attacking techniques are simply unquestionable. The Englishman will surely be a first choice fellow for the spot and will most probably be facing Tottenham’s versatile attacker, Christian Eriksen.

On the left spot, the manager might again go with Clyne’s countryman, James Milner. With Moreno failing to prove his worth (again and again), the versatile Englishman has stepped up to fill the void and has done a pretty good job so far. He had a tough outing against Burnley, but was a standout performer for the side against burton Albion.

For the centre back pairing, the manager might pick the same duo, who faced Burnley last weekend. With Joel Matip still perfectly not fit (although he played against Burton), the manager might look to give him a rest. The pair, just like their other mates, had a disappointing outing last weekend, but the duo will have to be on their toes this time around.

Midfield Trio: Can; Wijnaldum; Lallana-

The German midfielder Emre Can made his first start of the new season against Burton and was reliable personnel on the field. His tenacity and desire to win the ball back will surely make him a big nightmare for the North Londoners.

Many might argue, but the manager might use the new acquisition Gini Wijnaldum for the central spot at the White hart Lane. The former PSV man has struggled to fit in the position, but compared to what Henderson is delivering in recent times, the Dutch will be a better option for the manager.

For the Attacking spot, the manager might opt for Englishman Adam Lallana, who right at this very moment, is still struggling to match the attacking prowess of his teammates, but we are sure that eventually, he will cope with everything.

Attacking Trio: Mane; Firmino; Coutinho-

Sadio Mane’s absence against Burnley was easy to spot. Well, the former Southampton man missed the game due to his injury, but his inclusion against Burton surprised everyone and the new signing gave a man of the match performance.

On the other flank, the manager will surely be using the former Inter Milan midfielder, Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian was rested against Burton and Divock Origi was given the chance, but this time around, the manager will surely be using Coutinho.

As a central man, Roberto Firmino might get his start yet again. The Brazilian is currently struggling to find a stable footing in the final third, but playing regularly will surely help his case.
