Twitter: Liverpool Fans React To The Horrible Injury Suffered By Former Striker

Former Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert suffered a horrendous injury recently and it wasn’t long before the fans of his ex-club took to Twitter to share their best wishes.

The Englishman had joined Liverpool in the 2014/15 season but things did not go his way and he was shipped out at the end of the campaign. The tall striker then signed for West Bromwich Albion before he moved to Cardiff in 2016.

The injury took place in the game against Nottingham Forest and Lambert had to be taken off on a stretcher. The 34-year-old was hurt in a collision with the Forest goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic.

Even the manager of Cardiff City stated that the injury was a little too much for some of his players to look at.

“I don’t know how cuts heal but it looked horrific,” said Warnock to BBC Sport.

“I had to get one or two of the lads out – I didn’t want them looking at it at half-time in a game like that.

“The cut is that deep they’re just worried about whether there’s any ligament damage because it’s severed right through to his shin. It’s terrible.”

Lambert seemed to have started his Cardiff career much better than his Liverpool one and has scored two goals this season. But it seems that the striker will be out of action for a while and the Liverpool and Southampton fans were there to provide him with a lot of support.
