Jurgen Klopp To Be Handed £40 Million To Pursue Arsenal Star And Two Other Signings

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be given £40million to sign a few targets in the January transfer window. The Metro reports that the German will be looking to sign three players, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Julian Brandt and Gabriel Barbosa in January as the Reds look to pick up their first Premier League title.

The Merseyside club are second in the league table at the moment behind Chelsea and need to keep up the pressure on the Blues. But injuries to the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho have played a role in the Reds losing a bit of steam in their last few games.

With Sadio Mane also leaving for the African Cup of Nations, the Reds are short of quality attacking talent and Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the main man that Klopp aims to sign.

Arsenal and Liverpool do not have a great relationship when it comes to the transfer of players thanks to the Luis Suarez fiasco a few years ago. But the lack of regular playing time for the English international could be the reason why he seeks a move away from Arsenal.

The London club might not want to sell one of their bright sparks to a rival side but Liverpool could be spending a lot of money to get the right player, for example, Sadio Mane, who became the most expensive African player when he joined the Reds from Southampton.

Liverpool have to move fast in the window if they are to keep pace with Chelsea who are leading by five points. It isn’t just keeping pace with Chelsea but keeping the side fit as the Merseyside club have a number of games in the month of January and that will surely take its toll.

The Arsenal man hasn’t started too many games but he still has six goals and five assists in all competitions this season. Oxlade-Chamberlain also has the pace and directness to trouble the opposition defences and that would surely work well for this Liverpool side.

The major problem for the Ox over the years is applying his footballing brain, something that needs a lot of work. He isn’t the best player when it comes to making decisions on the fly and that is something that Jurgen Klopp wants from all his players due to the quick paced attacks his teams take part in.

£40million might not be that much of an amount in this day and age of football but Klopp has been fairly good with his transfers and hopefully, he will get this all-important one right as well.
