Liverpool Tried This Manchester City Outcast During The Deadline Day

Liverpool didn’t sign any players in the winter window but there were a number of stars linked with a move to Anfield. One such player was Joe Hart, the Englishman was surplus to requirements at the start of the season at Manchester City and Pep Guardiola allowed him to join Torino on loan.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper did have a tough start to his career in Serie A but has done better with each game passing by. Liverpool do have a problem with their goalkeepers and TuttoSport (via Express

) claim that the Reds did hold talks with Manchester City on deadline day in the winter window.

It is being reported that the Manchester City loanee is desperate for a return to England and Liverpool could have been a decent option given their problems at the back. Chelsea is also another club that is looking to sign the 29-year-old but he could turn out to be an understudy to Thibaut Courtois and that might not be feasible for the Premier League winning keeper.

Hart wants to end his time with Torino and it does seem unlikely that the Englishman will stay in Italy come next season. There are more than a few clubs that want to sign him up but Liverpool isn’t the club for him next season.

The Reds have a decent pair of keepers at the moment

While there were doubts about Simon Mignolet at the start of the season, the former Sunderland keeper has done pretty well this time around and has made a great comeback to the team.

The Belgian was dropped in favour of new signing Loris Karius but the younger goalkeeper found it difficult to perform in the English league and did cost the Reds a number of points against Bournemouth and West Ham.

Mignolet did well against Chelsea as well as he kept out a late penalty from Diego Costa and ensured the Reds stop their losing streak at home. The 28-year-old has gotten better with each game and Hart would not be a better option than the pair at the moment.

The English keeper is older than the pair and even Karius did well in the cup competitions to ensure his poor performances are behind him. As long as Jurgen Klopp believes in his goalkeeping duo, they will be at the club next season too.

Hart would be leaving Torino, that is a certainty but it is highly unlikely that he will be playing for Liverpool though.
