Liverpool Are Tracking €28 Million Rated Lazio Midfielder With 5 Goals And 9 Assists

Liverpool fans will be searching for some good news when it comes to transfers coming into the club and we do have a rather strange one to share. According to Sport Review ‘s Emanuele Giulianelli we are looking to sign a Serie A star and this time it is Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian scored five goals and provided nine assists in 34 Serie A games and can play either as an attacking midfielder or a defensive one, and we do need quality midfielders ahead of next season.

We cannot only rely on the likes of Jordan Henderson as he was injured for the latter part of last season and we seem destined to allow Lucas to leave the side prior to the start of next season.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp has been keeping a track of the talented 22-year-old and is willing to offer €28 million for the Serbian ace and will also offer him a pay package of around €3.5 million a year.

Of course, Simone Inzaghi would not want to lose out on a player that the club wants to build around and if Klopp really does want to land Milinkovic-Savic, he would have to pay a lot more than the amount stated.

We do need cover for our central midfield, especially someone who can control the tempo and play the deep playmakers role but this link does seem to be a bit odd as we haven’t really been linked with a lot of players in that position this season.

The Kop Times Verdict

Our priority has been to get a winger and a central defender. Even though those two targets seem to be unfulfilled thanks to the Virgil van Dijk and Salah fiascos, bringing in players for these two positions should be completed first before thinking about adding more midfielders into our side.

While we don’t have a proper player in the mould of an N’Golo Kante or even a Naby Keita, we still are well-stocked in this part of the field and don’t have to bring in a player this season unless they are an upgrade on our current side.

Milinkovic-Savic is young and can be a great signing for the future but for now, we highly doubt he would be playing at Anfield next season.
