Liverpool Could Finally Agree £35m Deal Inclusive Of Add-ons – Medical Pending

Liverpool have all but sealed the deal for Mohamed Salah and the only thing blocking the deal is the completion of a medical according to Goal.com’s Liverpool Correspondent Melissa Reddy

The report claims that the two sides, Roma and Liverpool, have finalized a price for the 25-year-old Egyptian and we are just waiting for permission to conduct the medical, which could be completed this week.

We had started with an opening bid for £28 million

for the winger while his club Roma wanted over £40 million. But as such things go in football, a compromise has been reached between the sides.

The report adds that the price for the former Chelsea man is £35 million inclusive of add-ons and the Egyptian has already agreed to personal terms with us.

Only the formalities now remain as we look to complete the second signing of the summer and it is a pretty hefty one, given the money we are paying.

A quality player looking at a second chance in England

What we are sure about is the quality of the player, at least in the Serie A as he scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for the Rome side. And this was his second great season with the Serie A club.

The fee, if it is £35 million inclusive of add-ons, certainly is a bit of a clampdown from the earlier weeks which saw Salah’s valuation shoot up by Roma. It also seemed that the deal was off as we targeted Gelson Martins from Sporting but thankfully, Jurgen Klopp’s first choice winger will be making Anfield his home next season.

Salah does have a point to prove to Chelsea and if he can keep his form from his time in the Serie A, we would have one frightening attack with Sadio Mane on the other side. The Egyptian is also known for his pace and with Mane, they could rip defences apart with their running and movement.

This will be a second crack for Salah in the Premier League at a club that was poised to sign him before Chelsea took him away. If Salah performs in the same manner as Mane did last season, we could be in for something really special next season.
