‘It’s a disrespect to my integrity, to my name’ – Liverpool Attacker Furious With EA Sports

Daniel Sturridge’s injury record has taken a toll on his Liverpool career and now it seems his lack of form and fitness has affected his digital career as well. FIFA 18 was released a few weeks ago and Sturridge’s avatar in the game has taken a hit when it comes to the ratings.

While Sturridge was still a decent enough striker in FIFA 17 with an overall rating of 84, he also had some great stats when it came to pace, with an 89 rating, 83 for shooting and even 81 for for dribbling.

This season’s Sturridge in the game has an overall of 82 but his pace has dramatically been dropped to 76 and his dribbling has also reduced to 79.

The Englishman was a little miffed when his stats were revealed in an interview and was quoted by the Express as saying:

“76? Don’t disrespect my pace like that bro. I’m one of the fastest strikers in the Premier League. For them to put a 76 down is a disrespect to my credibility, it’s a disrespect to my integrity, to my name. Whoever works at Fifa, they need firing seriously.”

This isn’t the first time something like this has taken place in the game with another player consistently having a go at the coders at FIFA being Michy Batshuayi, the Chelsea striker.

The reaction might be a little over the top and we highly doubt that anyone will get fired for the ratings provided to our striker. Sturridge should be a little aggrieved given that his pace has not drastically gone down in real life and he still is one of the fastest players in our team, if not the Premier League.

Roberto Firmino has been the striker of choice for Jurgen Klopp and it does seem that this could be the final season for the Englishman at Anfield unless he finds his scoring boots. Things do look a little better for him given that he scored for us against Huddersfield but Sturrdige has to do more and if he stays fit, he just might have a future at the club.
