Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson reveals his special message for Salah after 4-goal show vs Watford

Mohamed Salah’s incredible performance in the 5-0 win over Watford has everyone praising the 25-year-old. The former AS Roma man scored 4 times against the Hornets and now Jordan Henderson, our club captain, has come out and shared what he wrote on the match ball that Salah took home.

Henderson was speaking to the Liverpool Echo as he said:

“Everyone did (signed) the ball for him. I just kept it simple for him. I just said ‘Well done superstar’.”

The goals took Salah’s tally to 28 in the Premier League and the Egyptian is 4 clear of Harry Kane, who is out injured right now.

Henderson was also reminded of Luis Suarez, who took the Golden Boot in the 2013-14 season. Hendo had this to say when comparing Salah to the now Barcelona striker.

“They are both fantastic players in their own right and you can’t compare them. They are different players.

“I know they score a lot of goals and both work hard off the ball but it is very difficult to make that comparison. They are both so good in their own right.

“Which was the best performance? I’ll have to watch the goals back! I remember Luis had a couple of nutmegs and that 40-yarder… look, they are just both fantastic players.

“But Mo this season has been unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. He is doing it every week, without fail. He’s a great lad in the dressing room and to have around the place. He is a big plus to have in the team.”

Struggles When Suarez Left For Barcelona

When Suarez joined the Catalan giants, we did struggle a lot but with Philippe Coutinho leaving us to move to Spain, the goals have not dried up one bit and we do seem to be a more dynamic side.

Regarding the same, Henderson added:

“That’s because we have got a lot of goals up front. “Sadio (Mane), Roberto (Firmino), Mo. When Luis went, we struggled for goals and to get that tally up.

“With Mo, even if it is Sadio or Bobby, everyone is chipping in, everyone is doing their bit for the team and working hard. They are fantastic players. They make the space for each other with the runs they make.”

Henderson is right in saying that we have more options in the goal scoring department and hopefully, the trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino will score a lot more goals before the end of the season.

We would be playing in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and if the trio fires on all cylinders, we just might end up winning the title too.
