Jurgen Klopp believes that a fit and healthy Danny Ings can keep scoring goals in the Premier League after the Englishman scored in the 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

The German was quoted by the Daily Star after the match, as Ings was played as the main striker and Roberto Firmino was kept on the bench.

Klopp saw his side race to a 2-0 lead before the Baggies staged a late comeback to earn themselves a point but the manager was quick to praise Ings, who has suffered a number of long-term injuries while on the books of Liverpool.

“It was always clear that when Danny is fit, healthy and can keep the intensity in training – which he has been doing now for a long time – he will score goals in the Premier League.

“But we didn’t have too many opportunities for him. That’s not so nice but on the other hand it’s a normal life for a professional football player. It’s really nice that he could do that (score). He was a real threat.”

Ings did have a great chance to score the second goal of the game but failed to beat West Brom keeper Ben Foster but Klopp was still happy with the performance of the former Burnley man. The German said that it was a very nice game for Ings.

The point did not really help either side as West Brom still look destined for the drop while we could have done with two more points to seal a top-four spot.

We still have some work to do before we can ensure Champions League football for next season but seeing Ings score is certainly something to cherish as the striker has been rather unlucky during his spell at Anfield.

Hopefully, he starts scoring regularly and fulfils his potential.
