Liverpool owner John Henry’s special message to Klopp and the fans is heart-warming

John Henry

Liverpool’s principal owner, John Henry has confirmed that he will be present when the club faces Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.

The American was speaking at an event at the London stadium where he confirmed that his MLB franchise Boston Red Sox will take on arch-rivals the New York Yankees in two regular season games.

Henry was quoted by the Liverpool Echo as saying:

“I am very, very excited to go to the Champions League final. This is for our fans around the world, this is what this club is all about – trying to win European championships.

“It’s for Jurgen and everyone associated with the club.”

The owner also praised the fans as we did a brilliant job of supporting the team throughout the European campaign and the American highlighted just how well we did against Manchester City as well.

“Our fans really pushed us past Manchester City, they pushed us past Roma so that when we were playing the away legs, we were already in such a great position.

“Jurgen has done a tremendous job, as has everybody associated with the club.”

The last time we were in the Champions League final, it didn’t go all that well as AC Milan defeated us 2-1 but this time around, we do have a quality attacking side, thanks to the exploits of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Henry has not seen our latest manager, Klopp, pick up a trophy in his near three-year spell with us and hopefully, that changes when we face Real Madrid in the CL final this time.

Picking up the title would be a great achievement given that we weren’t even considered as one of the favourites for the title at the start of the season. However, the side has played with a different ability in the Champions League this time around.

The first thing at hand is to seal a top-four place and a win against Brighton on the final day of the season should be enough for that. Henry might be watching that match too but Madrid has to be the key fixture for us all.
