Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a classy footballer for Liverpool this season but he seems to be earning a lot of fans for his exploits off the field as well.
The 24-year-old struggled after joining Liverpool initially but since then, he has been a key player for us in the midfield department. Philippe Coutinho’s departure to Barcelona opened up a spot in the middle of the park and the former Arsenal star has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
Unfortunately, Ox picked up a terrible knee injury during Liverpool’s first-leg semi-final clash against AS Roma at Anfield. The player had to undergo surgery for the same and is currently working towards recovering from it. However, that did not stop him from pulling off a ‘good samaritan’ act and winning our appreciation in the process.
Ox had given his Liverpool jersey to a young fan named Bobby earlier this season. Following that, the footballer kept in touch with the child’s father, Joe Jaggar. When he learnt that they were struggling to get tickets to watch the club play Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League, Ox procured two tickets for them.
A lot of our fans are struggling to get tickets for the colossal event set to take place on May 26th and it is really heart-warming to see Ox do something like this. Jaggar and the young Bobby will be travelling to Kiev to watch the Reds in action, thanks to Ox’s generosity and compassion.
Considering the amount of love Ox has for the club and its fans, I speak for the entire Liverpool supporters’ community when I say that we cannot wait to see him back in action.
