Liverpool slap a staggering £175m price tag on Mo Salah as Manchester United show interest

Every transfer window brings with it a set of bizarre transfer rumours and the latest one to do the rounds this time is that Mohamed Salah might be on the verge of leaving Liverpool to join either join Real Madrid, Manchester City or Manchester United.

That’s right. A report from Plymouth Herald credits Spanish source Don Balon for the news that Salah has asked his agent to arrange an exit from Anfield. The report

claims that the trio of bigwigs is harbouring an interest in Salah.

More than the exit rumours, it is astounding to even think of Salah joining United or City – irrespective of the money they might be willing to pay.

The Egyptian sensation played a key role for us throughout the recently concluded season and while we may have missed out on winning the Champions League, that does not diminish Salah’s influence and contribution. Even if a transfer was on the horizon, it is highly unlikely for him to pick a Manchester club, considering our history.

However, the report then goes on to claim that Liverpool have slapped an eye-watering price tag of £175million to ward off potential suitors and it remains to be seen if either of the three clubs is willing to shell out a fee in that region.

After a widely successful debut season at Anfield, I hope Salah refuses to join a different club and continues with us for the seasons to come. If we are to taste success anytime soon, it will be important for Jurgen Klopp to build the team around Salah and the club’s management must do everything they can to keep him at Liverpool.
