Liverpool might face competition for the signature of Timo Werner, as reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan are keeping an eye on the rising German star.
Werner, who will be going to the World Cup, scored 21 goals in all competitions for RB Leipzig but they missed out on the Champions League places by finishing 6th in the Bundesliga.
Milan, even though they have financial constraints, are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t BleacherReport).
However, any move from Milan would not take place at the moment given that they have to deal with FFP (Financial Fair Play) issues. Leipzig too would not want to to sell their striker at the moment as they are losing star midfielder Naby Keita.
Milan had made a lot of investment in their side last season as they looked to at least challenge for a Champions League place. That failed to materialise for the once giants of Italian football and they finished 6th, 31 points behind champions Juve.
Werner, for his part, has grown into one of the most promising players to come out of the Bundesliga in recent years and he would be a great signing for any club looking for a forward that does a lot of running, yet is cool enough to bring home the goals.
At only 22, he has a lot of time to develop his game and joining us would be the right kind of move for him, given the playing style that Jurgen Klopp has applied at Liverpool.
Werner did recently speak about moving to a club that can make him world-class and hopefully, that club can be Liverpool in the future rather than Milan or Madrid.
